Recipe: Crab Rangoon Dip

Let’s not gate-keep those delicious appetizers, side dishes, main dishes, and desserts you bring over to friends and families that require you to make for the rest of your life for every occasion. So, I'm going to the best Crab Rangoon Dip that’ll satisfy all those Crab Rangoon lovers out there. As a Crab Rangoon connoisseur, my favorite restaurant shut down and to me, they always had the best Crab Rangoon.

It was time to search elsewhere; I’d gone to every nearby restaurant that serves them to find the best Crab Rangoon, but each time there was something off, but I couldn’t place my finger on it. I decided to make it myself, and let me tell you, I will forever be making my own from now on.

Time: 35 minutes

 Ingredients:

-       Imitation Crab meat chunk

-       Green Onions

-       Cream cheese 8oz

-       Japanese mayo

-       Black pepper

-       Soy sauce

-       Sesame oil

-       mozzarella cheese

-       Wantons

The great thing about cooking is it’s not baking; you can adjust everything I have up. There to taste and it’ll still come out fantastic. You’ll start by:

-       Put your 8oz soften or room-temperature cream cheese, into the mixing bowl. Keeping it out until room temperature will help mix your ingredients together.

-        Next, put in half the bag of Imitation Crab meat, if you really like to bring out that crab taste like me, add the whole bag to the batch if needed.

-       Half cup Japanese mayo, if you don’t have that on hand, I ended up using Nando’s spicy mayo and it worked just as well.

-       Black pepper

-       Add a stem or two of green onion

-       2 TBSP Soy sauce or to taste.

-       2 TBSP sesame oil or to taste.

MIX TOGETHER

-       Add to a baking pan, I used a bread baking pan for this dip.

-       Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese for the crust, I used most of the bag because I like a thicker crust.

-       Then put in the oven at 350 for 25 minutes.

While that’s in the oven, you want to start on the dipping chips!

-       Cut your wontons into triangles.

-       Use oil and deep fry the wonton triangles for a few seconds on both sides. You’ll start to see them cook and cook fast in the oil, so keep an eye out until they look like that perfect golden brown. It took me a couple of tries before I got them looking the way I wanted them to!

Once the wontons and dip are ready garnish with a little green onion and it’s ready to serve. This will have your friends and family coming back for more!
